Leather Sofa Restoration
A peeling leather three-piece suite stripped back, reframed and fully reupholstered.
The brief
Overview
A well-made three-piece suite whose leather had degraded badly — but whose hardwood frame was still perfectly sound. Stripped, reinforced and reupholstered in cream leather.
The challenge
The surface leather was flaking away in sheets. The owner had been quoted for a full replacement set and assumed the suite was beyond saving.
What we did
The frame was solid, so replacing it would have been waste. We stripped the old covering, reinforced two loose joints, replaced the foam and reupholstered — at a fraction of the cost of new, on a frame better than anything at that price today.
